J.D. Hayworth Comes Back to AZ Radio!

Former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth began hosting a new, conservative talk radio show on KFYI 550AM in Phoenix this past week.  He took over Joe Crummey's old spot and can be heard Monday through Friday from 4-7pm.  I look forward to listening to J.D. and his guests discuss a variety of issues affecting Arizona residents and all Americans, with illegal immigration and border security sure to be common topics.

Additionally, J.D.'s new website will be up and working soon (it's still a work in progress at the moment!).  The theme of the site is 'common sense for uncommon times'.  It's all about using common sense solutions to solve America's real problems.  I think it's going to be a blog where readers can submit ideas.

As Congressman for Arizona's 5th District, J.D. Hayworth was a strong supporter of increased border security and an outspoken opponent of amnesty.  He served Arizona well, but was unfortunately defeated in the 2006 election by dumbocrat Harry Mitchell.

Conservative vs. Liberal Beliefs

Here's some good common sense reading if you're bored this weekend.  John Hawkins wrote a great article about the difference between Conservatives and Liberals at Townhall.com.

This article by David Francis at the University of Arizona sheds light on the World Can't Wait movement and their Communist roots.

If you missed the illegal immigration BlogBurst this week, it's because Jake and the Freedom Folks were in Washington DC.  They were participating in Hold Their Feet to the Fire, a grassroots American lobbying effort against amnesty for illegal immigrants.  In order to expose the illegal alien amnesty being promoted by George Bush (aka the Kennedy-McCain Amnesty Bill that will give up to 20 million illegal aliens a 'pathway to citizenship'), 35 national radio hosts descended on our nation’s capital this past week, to Hold Their Feet to the Fire!  Be sure to check back for next week's BlogBurst - I know it will be enlightening as always!

The Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, while visiting a primary school class, found themselves in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.

The teacher asked both men if they would like to lead the discussion of the word "tragedy". So the illustrious Rev. Jackson asks the class for an example of a "tragedy".

One little boy stood up and offered: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy."

No," says the Great Jesse Jackson, "that would be an accident."

A little girl raised her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy"

I'm afraid not," explains the exalted Reverend Al. "That's what we would call a great loss." The room goes silent. No other children volunteer.

Reverend Al searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally at the back of the room little Johnny raises his hand. In a stern voice he says: "If a plane carrying the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton were struck by a missile and blown to smithereens that would be a tragedy."

Fantastic!" exclaims Jackson and Sharpton, "That's right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?"

"Well," says little Johnny, "because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss, and it probably wouldn't be an accident either!"

Three Thoughts - Email of the Week

Here's an email that I received this week...

(1) Zero Gravity:
When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity.  To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside-down, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C.

The Russians used a pencil.  Your taxes are due again--enjoy paying them.

(2) Our Constitution:
"They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq.  Why don't we just give them ours?  It was written by a lot of really smart guys, and it's worked for over 200 years.  And, we're not using it anymore."
       
(3) Ten Commandments:
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse is that you cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shalt Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians ... It creates a hostile work environment.

Illegal Immigration Truth Exposed - The BlogBurst Continues!

Illegal Aliens & What The Liberal Media Won't Tell Us

Here's an excerpt from an email I received from Grassfire.org.  It's right on target, and I couldn't have said it better myself:

"...the liberal media is pushing an open borders agenda!

Take a look in the paper, on the news, and you'll see countless stories of how illegal immigrants want only to come to the U.S. and do the "jobs that Americans won't do".  Sadly, that's simply not the truth.

The liberal media isn't going to report the fact that only 2 percent of illegal aliens are actually picking fruit and vegetables, but 41 percent are on welfare!

The liberal media isn't going to report that 1 in 10 babies born in the U.S. are to illegal aliens.

The liberal media isn't going to report that 60 percent of Housing and Urban Development funds go to illegal aliens.

This is the truth that isn't being reported by the liberal media, and it has got to stop!  Americans interested in secured borders need the truth!
