This is well worth the roughly 5 minutes it takes to watch...

Arizona State Representative Russell Pearce is facing some tough opposition as he runs for AZ State Senator of District 18. As a State Representative, Pearce has been one of Arizona's leaders in the fight against illegal immigration. In fact, Pearce was the force behind Arizona's landmark employer-sanctions law, which requires employers to verify legal status and severely punishes those who hire illegals. Now the pro-illegal loons are trying to punish Pearce for doing his job and representing the interests of his constituents.
And it's not just the open borders crazies that are attacking Pearce. Even some other Republicans are trying to keep Pearce from being re-elected... like AZ Congressman Jeff Flake who sponsored his very own amnesty bill last year. Apparently, Flake is pushing to get his immigration lawyer brother-in-law, Kevin Gibbons elected to this AZ Senate seat instead. Gibbons has apparently taken alot of money from those who support the illegal workforce.
Pearce has endorsements from Sheriff Joe Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas, both of whom have also fought hard against illegal immigration. But that's not enough. Russell Pearce needs our support. The ugly reality is that money may buy this Senate seat. Pearce is running as a publically-financed Clean Elections candidate, while Gibbons will likely enjoy donations from many of his brother-in-law, Jeff Flake's donors (not to mention the open borders crowd).
Hopefully the will of the people, rather than the almighty dollar will decide this election. The people of Arizona need more elected officials like Russell Pearce fighting for us. And to Congressman Jeff Flake who is running for his 5th term after promising voters he would limit himself to 3 terms... and who has stayed in office by default in somewhat unchallenged elections... please stop being such a 'Flake'.
SUPPORT RUSSELL PEARCE FOR ARIZONA SENATE!

First of all, let's get one thing totally clear...SCHIP is a SHAM.
It's truly a shame. Not only are the Democrats back to their old tricks of trying to hand out government services to every illegal alien they can find. But they're doing it:
SCHIP is not about insuring children and poor people. It's a farce - the Democrats are USING CHILDREN and POOR PEOPLE to gain support for a bill they know would otherwise be overwhelmingly opposed (Remember the Amnesty bill - HELLO?). SCHIP is really a step towards socialized medicine, and an attempt to give free health care to illegal aliens. Call your Senators and Congressmen - or you'll be paying for this free illegal alien healthcare before you know it. And when you get old, you yourself will find yourself with no Medicare. Since we can't afford to give healthcare to everybody, the Democrats have decided that illegal aliens are more deserving of free healthcare than hard-working American senior citizens who have spent their entire lives paying into a corrupt, sham system that promised them something in return.
Below is another email I received from Congressman John Shadegg. This really is a sad day for America.

I just received this excuse letter from Senator Jon Kyl. Read it carefully...it seems he gets what Americans want, yet voted for the opposite. My message to Senator Kyl and every Senator that voted for cloture today: You're right about one thing. This amnesty bill was definitely a compromise...a compromise of our national security, not to mention our core values. UNACCEPTABLE.
The Senate voted this morning against invoking cloture on the immigration reform bill, taking the issue off of the Senate’s calendar for the time being. While there is still a chance that a reform bill could be resurrected, the legislative schedule for the remainder of the year is such that significant immigration reform is unlikely to be considered again in the near future.
The result of the cloture vote demonstrates just how difficult it is to achieve the consensus necessary to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws. The bill before the Senate had something for everyone to love, and hate. For conservatives, the bill included unprecedented additional resources to help secure the border (including the dollars upfront to pay for them), an end to chain migration, an effective employee verification system to prevent illegal immigrants from gaining employment, and a temporary worker program that is truly temporary. For liberals, it offered a way to deal with illegal immigrants who are already here, though the automatic pathway to citizenship they wanted was eliminated.
To get something done, both sides had to make concessions. Considering that Republicans are in the minority, I believe we won far more than we gave up. I’ve linked to an editorial from the Washington Post that illustrates how the liberal media and Democrat politicians scorn the bill’s strong enforcement bent and the common-sense amendments some of us offered. Nevertheless, Senators from both the right and the left ends of each party united to block the bill’s further consideration. It was a case of letting the pursuit of the perfect become the enemy of the good.
Many people have rightfully criticized the federal government for failing in the past to enforce the law and deal effectively with the problem of illegal immigration. I agree with them. And they understandably look skeptically on our current efforts to strengthen the law, even while they demand that Congress act. But we will never be able to solve the problem by saying “no” to new legislation because of past failures. And we cannot simply say “enforce the law.” As I’ve said before, much of the current law is unenforceable. The Senate’s vote today regrettably means the status quo will continue, with thousands of illegal immigrants continuing to pour across our borders every day and millions who are already here continuing to receive silent amnesty.
Senators have been listening to their constituents around the country – the number of calls, letters, faxes, and emails has been unprecedented, even jamming phone lines into the Senate earlier today. I, for one, have tried to turn constructive suggestions into meaningful amendments to enhance the enforcement provisions of the bill. Though the current legislation has been defeated, I’ll keep fighting for additional resources in upcoming appropriations bills for more Border Patrol agents, the construction of border fencing and other barriers, and improved technology along the border. I will urge the Bush administration to enforce those parts of the law that are enforceable in order to demonstrate to a skeptical public that our government is indeed committed to enforcing the law. I also intend to introduce legislation that will focus on enforcing immigration laws at the workplace and securing the border. Clearly, the American people want more enforcement before doing anything else.
I’ll continue to listen, and I invite your comments, suggestions, and criticisms. Thank you.
Sincerely,
JON KYL
So, he realizes the American people want enforcement first, AND he understands we want enforcement first because we don't trust the government to do any enforcement otherwise (like in the past)...yet he voted against what he knows his constituents want. He says much of the current law is unenforceable. So we do NO ENFORCEMENT? Hey Senator Kyl, guess what? Many parts of the current law ARE enforceable - so let's start enforcing. And how about that fence that was already approved - where is it? SHOW ME THE FENCE! Senator Kyl says, "we can't simply say 'enforce the law'." Why not Senator? Aren't laws intended to be enforced? I'm so sick of hearing "we can't" and "it's the best we can do". Then move aside and make room for someone who CAN and WILL get the job done.
Senator Kyl says, "It was a case of letting the pursuit of the perfect become the enemy of the good." Is he smoking crack? They weren't pursuing anything close to perfection and passage of this bill, not defeat, would have been the "enemy of the good".
This Senator aknowledges "the number of calls, letters, faxes, and emails has been unprecedented, even jamming phone lines into the Senate...", yet he refused to listen to the messages being sent by his constituents. Either he's deaf, hard-headed or just plain doesn't care what his constituents want.
Senator Kyl says, "we will never be able to solve the problem by saying “no” to new legislation because of past failures." Well we'll never solve any probelms by REPEATING past failures either. Are our elected officials really too stupid to learn from past mistakes?
The Washington Post editorial referenced is such B.S. that I excluded the link. This Senator is just truly clueless. Apparently, Washington will do that to you after awhile. Perhaps it's time to re-examine term limits?

The best news I've received all week: The traitors were defeated! However, I must also say that I'm especially ashamed today, since both of my Arizona Senators betrayed their constituents by voting for amnesty. But no worries, we'll be sure to remind them of their betrayal when they're up for re-relection. I predict both Senator McCain and Senator Kyl are serving their LAST term as an Arizona Senator.
Here's a list of all 18 Senators who changed their amnesty vote from 'YES' to 'NO', along with a list of all 53 Senators who voted 'NO' on amnesty today. I guess all those faxes, emails and phone calls I made weren't a waste of time afterall! Kudos to EVERY AMERICAN who voiced their opinion and defeated this bill.

Pedro and Carlos are panhandling in Los Angeles. Pedro drives a Lexus SUV, lives in a mortgage-free house and has a lot of money to spend. Carlos only brings in 2 to 3 dollars a day.
Carlos asks Pedro how he can bring home a suitcase full of $10.00 bills every day.
Pedro says, "Look at your sign. It reads: "I have no work, a wife and 6 kids to support. Look at *my* sign."
Carlos looks at Pedro's sign. It reads: "I only need another $10.00 to move back to Mexico for good."

The past few weeks has been an enormous wake up call to Americans everywhere. As a result of the immigration amnesty battle in Washington, Americans now realize that politicians cannot be trusted...PERIOD. If we take our eyes off them even for a second, the Kennedy crowd starts looking for ways to screw hard-working Americans. And even more disturbing, our so-called "Conservative" Senators jumped right on the immigration bandwagon along with the Dumbocrats.
Here's a link to the names, addresses, phone numbers and fax numbers of several US Senators. These Senators NEED to hear from you - tell them what you think about their 'Shamnesty' bill.
Below is the letter I faxed to most of them (I also faxed a second page containing only a huge "A" for Amnesty!) I feel so much better now...you should try it!
Dear Senator [insert your traitor Senator's name here],
If you support the current immigration bill:
1. You are voting for Amnesty. Spin it anyway you wish, but the American people are not stupid and Americans, more than two-thirds of whom oppose amnesty, will remember you as part of the A-gang. (“A” is for Amnesty)
2. While even legalized ‘illegals’ will NOT be eligible to vote for many years, angry Americans WILL BE VOTING AGAINST Amnesty supporters in huge numbers. All those Americans who called, emailed and faxed your office will be voicing their discontent in the form of a vote for many elections to come.
3. Ask Senator Kennedy how many FAILED AMNESTY bills he’s helped author to date. With his track record on amnesty, he shouldn’t even be allowed in the room while an immigration bill is being written.
4. Also please ask Senator Kennedy how much our taxes will have to go up to pay for this and how much social security and medicare benefits will have to decrease. Certainly a responsible politician would NOT propose a bill that will cost Americans TRILLIONS of dollars without first knowing where the money’s coming from. But wait, nobody thought of that...of course, why worry about how much of OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY YOU’RE SPENDING? Americans struggling to make ends meet can’t go shopping without making sure we have money in the bank first. Yet Congress wants to import tens of millions of welfare recipients without giving any thought to how they will pay for it because it’s NOT THEIR MONEY.
5. WHERE’S THE FENCE that was already approved? There isn’t one yet - that’s exactly why Americans do NOT believe you will secure the border even with amnesty. We are tired of being LIED TO...PROVE YOU CAN & WILL SECURE THE BORDER, and maybe Americans will be willing to swallow the amnesty pill. But NOT until AFTER the border is PROVEN to be secured because we’ve been tricked into amnesty before.6. If you’re lucky enough to be one of the very few who supports amnesty and doesn’t get voted out of office next time you’re up for re-election, have you thought about what you’ll tell your constituents NEXT time the government considers amnesty for the millions of illegals who are encouraged by the passage of this Amnesty bill to illegally cross our still unsecured border in the future?
7. Time will prove this amnesty bill to be a lie. Time will prove that the government still has no intention of securing the border. All who support this bill will be considered liars and traitors by their constituents...actually, I think sell-out is the most common term I’ve heard used. Perhaps you too will feel betrayed by your colleagues who convinced you that the border REALLY will be secured this time if you just give amnesty first. Yet still, you’ll be looking for a new job.
But you still have a chance to do the right thing... Don’t be naive - OPPOSE AMNESTY or look for a new job. SECURE OUR BORDERS NOW, then we’ll talk about amnesty.

A vote for cloture is a vote for amnesty.

Although I've voted for both Senator John McCain and Senator Jon Kyl more than once, I no longer consider either of them to be my representatives. The recent immigration fiasco clearly shows they both went to Washington to represent their own agendas, and have no interest in what their constituents want. As a result, the AZ GOP has been in pure damage control mode for several weeks, trying to defend Jon Kyl's unexpected and unjustifiable betrayal. The AZ GOP obviously realizes that John McCain's political career is over, as they haven't even tried to stick up for him. Since he has exactly ZERO chance at the Presidential nomination, why doesn't he just go back to Washington and do the job he was elected to do. Over the past 6 months or so, he hasn't even bothered to show up for many important Senate votes, yet he's asking us for a promotion to President? He won't even be re-elected to his Senate seat now. Arizona has had enough of John McCain. In fact, America is pretty much fed up with Washington...period. Our politicians are soooooooooo out of touch with American values it's truly shameful. Maybe it's something in the D.C. water?
Anyway, up until a couple months ago, I supported Jon Kyl. I truly believed he was better than most of the other talking heads in Washington. But I thought wrong...he's clearly ONE OF THEM. Now that I've realized that, I removed his sticker from my car and mailed it back to him with the short note below (click image below to enlarge)...

Why doesn't one of our Republican Congressmen initiate a bill that would require current immigration law to be enforced and penalize those cities and entities that choose to ignore the problem? Just that simple - no amnesty, no comprehensive reform, let's just prove we know how to enforce the laws we already have. In addition to that, Republicans should be pushing to BUILD THE FENCE we were already promised. Show Americans that our federal government is actually capable of securing the border and taking illegal immigration seriously. Perhaps then, people like myself who are vehemently opposed to amnesty would be willing to swallow the amnesty pill. It's not that I believe we could, or even should actually deport 12-20 million illegals, it's that I'm scared to death we're going to get amnesty without real border enforcement AGAIN. 20+ years of looking the other way is a hard habit to break, and my elected officials need to prove to me that the attitude towards illegal immigration and border security has really changed. Americans no longer believe the lip service we get from our politicians - we need to see it to believe it. Not only would that give most Americans a warm, fuzzy feeling about giving amnesty, but truly cracking down on illegals NOW would cause some to self-deport while deterring many more from coming here illegally. If municipalities verified the legal status of all people arrested and turned illegals over to ICE, we could easily identify the criminal illegals and deport those who are harmful, not helpful to our nation. Of course then ICE would actually have to do its job, and that would require a total change of culture.
Hopefully, Republicans realize that opposing amnesty and preventing comprehensive immigration reform is the best way for Republicans to win big in '08. If comprehensive immigration reform (amnesty) gets passed, the Democrats will get credit from their left wing base while telling moderate America it was Bush's bill (Harry Reid has already used those exact words). Republicans will be so angry at their elected officials that Democrats will re-take the white house and win even bigger than in '06. And beyond 2008 as more and more illegals become legal citizens, the majority will vote Democrat and eventually, our 2-party system will go away altogether.
Republicans must stand firm against amnesty. Let the Democrats keep trying to pass amnesty - it's great for Republicans if it remains in the news, but the Republicans have to keep opposing it. If it's still an issue in '08, the millions of anti-amnesty voices that spoke up by calling, emailing and faxing their elected officials these past few weeks will all show up to the polls and vote for the anti-amnesty candidate. It's a win-win... Republicans win in the election and the American people get what they want and deserve from their government.

Has the President completely lost his mind? Did aliens abduct the real President Bush and replace him with this suddenly liberal dufus? And why hasn't Vice President Cheney had anything to say about the immigration bill? I'd be willing to bet it's because he disagrees with President Bush's craziness. I truly cannot believe the President is even considering this immigration amnesty bill. It's the dumbest thing President Bush has done since the Dubai ports idea. And I actually voted for President Bush, not once, but twice.
I don’t understand why President Bush and so many Republicans are betraying not only their so-called core values, but also their constituents by supporting amnesty. The President is willing to ‘pardon’ millions of illegals - meanwhile Border Patrol Agents who nobly defended our nation sit in prison, apparently not worthy of the same compassion. I sincerely hope Senator McCain, Senator Kyl and the rest of Congress remember where their loyalty is supposed to be and whose interests they are paid to represent. The reason nothing gets done in Washington is because everybody there is looking out for their own interests, and nobody’s representing America’s interests anymore. It’s time our politicians set aside party affiliation and personal career ambition to do what’s best for America.
Giving legal status to illegals doesn’t solve anything. Approving this recently reached immigration ‘deal’ would be the equivalent of making all drugs legal to get rid of the illegal drug problem. That’s ridiculous. Calling ‘illegals’ legal doesn’t solve anything. But if you buy into that logic, perhaps we could solve the nation’s DUI problem by making it legal to drive drunk. And while we’re at it, we can win the War on Terror too - we’ll just make it legal to blow stuff up and fly planes into buildings. And to solve the problem of identity theft, we’ll just legalize stealing social security numbers and using fraudulent documents. Hell, we can pretty much solve all our problems this way...but is that really a world you’d want to live in?
The first step in solving any problem is CORRECTLY identifying the problem. Our problem with immigration is that there are too many illegals getting into the country. But in their infinite wisdom, our Washington politicians are trying to change the fact that these immigrants are illegal instead of addressing the real problem, which is that THEY’RE HERE!
After you’ve correctly identified what the problem is, you must determine the real cause of the problem in order to solve it. The primary cause of our illegal immigration problem is the fact that Mexico is a severely impoverished country. There's no reason it has to be poor - it has great natural resources and a great location for commerce right next to America. We give Mexico a great deal of foreign aid and trade opportunities, yet many Mexicans feel they cannot provide for their families by staying in Mexico. Why? The reason for its poverty and lack of jobs is due to Mexico’s incompetent, corrupt government - the same corrupt government that endorses illegal immigration to the US and helps Mexican drug dealers get their poison to our children. If we as a nation permit these people (even the good, hard-working illegal immigrants) to bring their values of lawlessness and lack of respect for government, they will not assimilate and become Americans. We will become like Mexico. After recently visiting Mexico (legally and with respect for their laws, I might add), I have no desire to live in such a place. Therefore, we MUST insist that those who come here get the message loud and clear as soon as they set foot on US soil: America welcomes you but WE HAVE LAWS. We expect them to be obeyed, and there will be consequences if they are disobeyed. This is a concept we teach our children from birth - why shouldn’t we expect the same from grown adults?
Since we don’t have direct control over the primary cause of our immigration problem (Mexico’s economy), we must look to other (secondary) causes - primarily our wide open border. Like Mexico’s poverty, there’s simply no excuse for our nations’ unsecured borders. There’s plenty we can do about it - we can SECURE THE BORDERS for starters. In fact, even without the immigration bill passing, we’ve already been promised 700 miles of fence we’re not getting - SO WHERE’S THE FENCE? It’s not being built, because regardless of what they say, Washington is simply not interested in securing our borders. It's all just lip service because our politicians think Americans are too stupid to know what's good for them. And once Washington finishes giving away the farm to the 12-20 million+ illegals, they still won’t be interested in securing our borders. They’re just saying what they think we want to hear so we’ll agree to this amnesty sham that’s being shoved down the throats of hard-working American taxpayers.
No matter what you call it, the immigration deal recently reached is amnesty, and will no doubt end up just like the 1980's 'deal' that gave amnesty to millions but never seriously secured the border or enforced immigration law. The so called safeguards that are supposed to ensure enforcement are NOT real (the fence is already NOT really being built). And in addition to no border security plus a bunch of new uneducated citizens, Americans will also get an increased flow of illegals (hoping to cash in on future amnesty, and certainly not fearing enforcement). This deal also spells the end of the Republican party within the next few decades, and it'll also be the beginning of the end of America as a world Superpower. With 60% of those receiving 'amnesty' being dropouts, the burden on American taxpayer will be enormous (and by the way, these uneducated people will soon be voting and thus controlling our country - how many more BAD decisions can the US take?). How long does Washington think hard working Americans will foot the bill for this "immigration deal"? And how does Washington possibly expect the hard-working Americans who will pay for this deal in so many ways to NOT be resentful of these new ‘citizens’? Assimilation would be difficult enough if these people all wanted to assimilate, but they don't all want to assimilate. From the marches I've been to, it seems that many of these people want Americans to change to accommodate them - beginning with our laws.
How could Congress be so far away from what Americans really want? The last election was not a mandate on Iraq - it was a message from the American people that we are tired of being ignored by our elected officials. Washington politicians are representing their own interests instead of the interests of their constituents. We are tired of the sleazy political games, corruption, and yes, the last election was a message that we are tired of losing a war we should be winning. Securing the border should’ve been the first thing we did when this 'war on terror' began. Americans don't understand why our soldiers have to die in Iraq to make our country safer when we haven't even secured the homeland (border). Doesn't our Commander-in-Chief know the first thing you do when you're at war is secure your perimeter (border)? The President messed up SO BAD after 9/11 by not securing the border. He had great reason to secure it, and even Democrats would not have criticized him for doing so then. A huge missed opportunity.
America needs to do everything within its power to secure our borders NOW. We need to enforce existing laws and we need to encourage Mexico to help secure the border - but we cannot trust the Mexican government to truly work with us since their interests are different from ours. Therefore we need make it in their best interest to help us stop illegal immigration - perhaps tie their foreign aid dollars to border security and reduce the amount of money they get by a certain amount for unacceptable illegal immigration levels? I don’t have all the answers, but I do know that helping Mexico and Mexicans should NOT have to ruin America and hurt Americans.
Washington needs to GET REAL on immigration. Mr. Bush and those elected officials who support mass amnesty will go down in history as the people who could have saved our country's future, but didn't. Mexico will go down in history as the crappy little country that destroyed the big powerful US without ever firing a shot.

If so, you might want to donate to Fred Thompson's campaign.
I just joined 'Friends of Fred'. It's just a donation/support site right now I guess - no blog or other information really. I hoped to find some information there regarding his positions on key issues, but didn't. There's been a lot of interest in Fred Thompson lately, but I really don't know that much about him. So far, he doesn't get me that excited, but perhaps that will change as I learn more about him. I'm mostly interested in where he stands on the border and immigration, as well as how he'd win the wars - Iraq/Afghanistan/islamic extremists & how he'd handle Iran/North Korea/Venezuela, etc.
Although I don't know much about Fred Thompson, I would like to know more and I really want him to be someone conservatives can support. Senator McCain is worthless even as a Senator and would be an even worse President (and I've voted for him several times but will never vote for him again since he can't stop making bad deals with Ted Kennedy). McCain has no chance at the nomination anymore anyway - he blew it by supporting amnesty. I kinda like some of the lesser known candidates but really don't think any of them stand a chance either. As far as I can tell, it's between Thompson, Giuliani and Romney. I also like Giuliani but still need to know where he stands on many issues, and I have a feeling once I learn more about him I may not like him so well. If Newt Gingrich gets in the race, I'll probably vote for him. But if the primary was held today, I think I'd vote for Mitt Romney (I for one am more concerned about national security than the President's religion).

Former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth began hosting a new, conservative talk radio show on KFYI 550AM in Phoenix this past week. He took over Joe Crummey's old spot and can be heard Monday through Friday from 4-7pm. I look forward to listening to J.D. and his guests discuss a variety of issues affecting Arizona residents and all Americans, with illegal immigration and border security sure to be common topics.
Additionally, J.D.'s new website will be up and working soon (it's still a work in progress at the moment!). The theme of the site is 'common sense for uncommon times'. It's all about using common sense solutions to solve America's real problems. I think it's going to be a blog where readers can submit ideas.
As Congressman for Arizona's 5th District, J.D. Hayworth was a strong supporter of increased border security and an outspoken opponent of amnesty. He served Arizona well, but was unfortunately defeated in the 2006 election by dumbocrat Harry Mitchell.

Here's an excerpt from an email I received from Grassfire.org. It's right on target, and I couldn't have said it better myself:
"...the liberal media is pushing an open borders agenda!
Take a look in the paper, on the news, and you'll see countless stories of how illegal immigrants want only to come to the U.S. and do the "jobs that Americans won't do". Sadly, that's simply not the truth.
The liberal media isn't going to report the fact that only 2 percent of illegal aliens are actually picking fruit and vegetables, but 41 percent are on welfare!
The liberal media isn't going to report that 1 in 10 babies born in the U.S. are to illegal aliens.
The liberal media isn't going to report that 60 percent of Housing and Urban Development funds go to illegal aliens.
This is the truth that isn't being reported by the liberal media, and it has got to stop! Americans interested in secured borders need the truth!

Below is an email from Steve Elliott, President of Grassfire.org Alliance. Please read this and sign the petition to help this sheriff's deputy. Like the 2 US Border Patrol Agents, this law enforcement officer should get an award...he certainly does NOT belong in jail for simply doing his job and defending our country against illegal alien criminals...
"As you know, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton orchestrated the prosecution of imprisoned Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean.
Well, there's another victim of Johnny Sutton -- Gilmer Hernandez, a sheriff's deputy who is now in jail for trying to stop a van-load of illegals who were trying to run him over! Deputy Hernandez' story will be featured this Saturday, Feb 17, 9pm EST on Fox's America's Most Wanted. Go here for background info, more on the TV broadcast and a new petition launched on FireSociety.com by a Grassfire team member supporting Deputy Hernandez.
+ + Action Item: Sign petition to Free Gilmer!
I'm asking our friends who have stood with Agents Ramos and Compean to also sign this citizen petition. Two easy steps:
+ + Step #1 -- Sign up at FireSociety
If you have not yet signed up at FireSociety, please go here and register (it takes about two minutes)
+ + Step #2 -- Sign the FireSociety petition
Once you have registered, you can sign the petition by simply clicking the "Sign The Petition" graphic
Thanks so much for the stand you are taking!

Here's an email I received this past week. I can't say the information in this email is 100% true because I didn't verify it, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if some or all of it was true. But no worries...if any part of it's even slightly inaccurate, I'll get nasty comments from the pro-illegals crowd!
"HARSH, YOU SAY??
1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.
2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.
3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.
4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, nor any other government assistance programs.
5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no "bad-mouthing" our president or his policies. If you do you will be sent home.
8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.
Harsh, you say?
The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of MEXICO!"

The email below is definitely the most important email I received all week. It may seem like this couldn't possibly happen in America, but it's true and it did happen. Please visit the link at the bottom and help these two agents who I consider to be heroes.
Two U.S. Border Patrol Agents have been sentenced to decade long prison terms for apprehending an illegal alien at our border!
Almost as outrageous is that the illegal alien drug smuggler, who was given immunity for testifying against the agents is now suing the U.S. for $5 million, claiming he was permanently injured!
I have just signed a petition calling for the President to pardon these two Border Agents and I’m asking you to join with me by clicking below for the full story and the petition:
Thanks!

Sorry I've been really busy lately and haven't posted. Here's my favorite email of the week!
"Dear Senators Kennedy & Kerry,
As a citizen of Massachusetts and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.
My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill, which was recently passed by the Senate. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.
Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year -- so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for my family and me because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.
Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.
Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.
If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.
Your Loyal Constituent,
Joe Martin
(Soon to be Jose Martinez)"

I got up this morning, and took my husband to pick up his vehicle at Kachina Cadillac-Hummer in Scottsdale, AZ. His vehicle was there having some warranty work done - specifically, the luggage rack rails on the top were broken and had to be replaced. When they replaced them, they used glue to hold the rails and the weather stripping in place. This was yesterday and the vehicle was supposed to be ready for pickup this morning. So I took almost an hour out of my morning to drive him down there to get his truck. Likewise, he took almost an hour out of his already hectic day to pick up the truck. When he got there, they said it's not ready. Why not? Yesterday they called and said it was all done and we could pick it up in the morning. Well, it was done but someone who didn't speak or read English ran it through the car wash last night, even though the technician had left a note on the steering wheel saying not to wash it until the morning because of the glue that was not yet dried. So now, the repairs have to be done all over again.
I'm happy it won't cost me any money, but in reality, it will. Time is money. My husband and I each wasted an hour of our time - 2 hours total. As small business owners who don't get paid unless we are producing income, that lost time probably cost us more than the repairs would have cost. Granted, this non-English speaking employee is not the only problem at Kachina Cadillac-Hummer. We've had nothing but poor service from this dealer from day one. Whether it was with the sales team's inability to tell the truth or the service department's incompetence, this dealer has pretty much screwed up everything they could possibly screw up. We love the vehicle but cannot stand the dealer.
But anyway you want to look at it, today's ordeal is just another example of why people who are going to work in America need to speak English.

I received this by email...it is pretty unbelieveable that we are STILL allowing this to go on:
If you are a rational human being, you just have to ask yourself WHY we are putting up with this. Can the answer be near the bottom – highlighted in red for you? Could some of these trillions be “buying” the votes of our Senators? Remember, this amount is only for the year 2005.

This is an outrage. For the sake of our future and our children's future, it's time to do something for real...not amnesty, but border security and immigration control.

Why do we need English as our official language? Many say we don't. I say to them - go to the Jack-in-the-Box by my house in Mesa, AZ and try to order a simple meal... then we'll talk.
So, there I was in Jack-in-the-Box with no other customers around. It wasn't busy or hectic like a fast food joint sometimes is. But when I stepped up to the counter to order my food, the girl taking my order looked at me like I had 2 heads. She couldn't understand a thing I said. No, I wasn't speaking Chinese or some weird language. I was speaking English...in America...go figure. After several minutes of repeating myself and doing a bunch of pointing at the menu items I wanted, she finally had my order...a chicken sandwich, fries and a drink. Nothing complicated. But when I went to get my food, I got this huge chicken salad thing instead of a chicken sandwich. So I tried to tell her this is not what I ordered, and then she really didn't speak English. But I refused to take the salad so finally the manager came out. Great, I thought, now I can finally get my food and get the McF#ck out of here. But no...the manager didn't speak a lick of English either!
So how is it we're going to do business in 5, or say 10 years if we don't do something about illegal immigration now? Will Spanish become our primary language? It will at some point if we don't declare English as our official language. Just look at the rate illegals are coming here from Mexico, and combine that with the rate at which they seem to reproduce and it seems inevitable that Americans will need to learn Spanish just to get by. As a white American, I just became a minority in my state a few months ago. Now I can't even order a damn chicken sandwich without an interpretor.

Arizona voters, in a primarily Republican state, have spoken loud and clear...Secure the border and no amnesty. In yesterday's election, four-term state legislator Steve Huffman was defeated by Randy Graf even though the GOP poured tons of money into trying to help Huffman win. The GOP did so because they thought Huffman had a better chance to beat Democrat Gabrielle Giffords. But Arizona voters don't care what the GOP wants, they care about illegal immigration. Graf advocates stopping the flow of undocumented immigrants by fencing the Mexican border and providing no harbor for those already here, which Arizonans overwhelmingly want EXPECT from their government. So Arizona voters will be choosing between Graf and Giffords in the November election.
By the way, Len Munsil will be running against Governor Janet Napolitano for Governor. Munsil also advocates securing our borders.
Why doesn't the GOP get it? The majority of Americans, like Arizonans want border security, and they want our laws and our sovereignty to be respected by foreigners. Is that so much to ask in this day of Islamic Fascism? If the GOP would just adopt an agenda that includes securing our borders instead of trying to ignore the issue, they would win hands down.

Okay, so I didn't see the first part of the movie on Sunday night, but I was okay with missing the Clinton years (I already lived through them once, and once is MORE than enough!). But I did watch during the Bush years last night and I don't see what all the fuss was about. To me, the right should have been more bothered by this movie than the Democrats. Like anything else on ABC, I thought the always present liberal bias was definitely there.
I didn't like the fact that this movie portrayed Dick Cheney as a wrinkly old angry man. Okay, we know the guy's old but come on! I was also bothered by the little poke the movie made at Bush's war on terrorist financing. I think stopping terrorist financing is extremely important and has probably been a huge part of the reason we haven't been attacked again since 9/11. But then, I already agreed with him and didn't need convincing...so I'm sure most liberals who watched missed the boat on that subject as usual.
Overall, I thought the movie pretty much sucked. I almost fell asleep several times. I will say I think the movie definitely made the case for President Bush's so-called 'eavesdropping programs' as well as the need to secure our border. I just hope that the people who watched can see the connection between 9/11 and illegal immigration. If immigration laws were enforced, perhaps the World Trade Center would still be standing and thousands of Americans would still be alive.
I'm no movie critic, but I give both ABC and their 9/11 movie a big "L" for "LOSER"!

When it comes to immigration, no bill is definitely better than a bad bill. Just look back to the 1980's if you don't believe me. President Bush is wrong with his "we can do it all - secure the border, guest worker program and give amnesty" approach.
And the national guard troops he's sending...they're being set up for failure. They're not sending anywhere near enough, so of course, now the military, not the President, will be blamed for failing to secure the border. Smart move George.
I say NO amnesty and NO guest worker program until we KNOW the border is secure. Because no bill is better than another bad bill.

I REALLY hope the politicans in Washington don't screw up this illegal immigration thing any worse than it already is. We have to secure the border FIRST and make sure it is really secured before agreeing to a guest worker program or path to citizenship for the illegals already here. America does not need a repeat of the failed 1980's legislation. Perhaps many people like myself would be satisfied with a waiting period to verify the successful securing of the border before the guest worker provision kicks in and before illegals get any officially recognized standing in our society.
I also disagree with the so-called "compromise that wasn't" whereas illegals that have been here less than 2 years are deported and those here over a certain number of years can apply for citizenship. Nobody is going to admit they've been here less than 2 years and everybody will say they've been here long enough to apply for citizenship. It is not verifiable in most cases and the government is just asking people to lie and take advantage of the new rule if passed. It's a bad idea. All illegals should have a LONG waiting/probationary period and financial penalties before they are eligible to apply for citizenship and then they should go to the back of the line. And harsh penalties for future illegal entry to the US need to be enforced, and not just enforced on businesses.
As a disabled veteran and a small business owner who has NEVER hired an illegal, I resent the idea recently floated in the media that businesses are responsible for our immigration problem. The crappy Mexican economy, the bleeding heart liberals and the spineless U.S. government need to accept responsibilty for our immigration problem.
The rule of law is what made our country great. If we allow Mexico's lack of respect for law to continue flooding over into our borders, we must also be prepared to live with the consequences. Would you like to live in a corrupt, impoverished country like Mexico? I wouldn't. But slowly but surely, we are headed there. That's right, over time, the U.S. will become a crappy, corrupt, impoverished country if we don't put our foot down and demand that our laws and our sovereignty be respected. SECURE OUR BORDERS NOW, TALK ABOUT GUEST WORKERS AND A PATH TO CITIZENSHIP LATER!

I was watching Hannity & Colmes on Fox news the other day (I think I already admitted to being a Fox News junkie). Anyway, this complete moron was on the show talking about how we should deal with the immigration problem. I didn't catch his name because I'm bad with names and quite honestly, I didn't really care what his name was. But this guy is the San Francisco City Supervisor (go figure). He claims we should not even have a military, and still seems to stand by this statement. No, really! And Sean Hannity gave him a million chances to set the record straight and say that he didn't really mean it, but he wouldn't.
Now, he apparently is telling law enforcement in his city not to enforce new federal immigration laws if they are passed. In other words, he is encouraging lawlessness and anarchy. He claims he can't enforce immigration laws because he doesn't have the resources, and the police officers he does have need to focus on more important problems. And then this bonehead went on to say that the way to resolve immigration is to reform the economies of the countries (namely Mexico) that illegal immigrants are immigrating from. Oh sure Mr. City Supervisor, as if we have the ability to reform a foreign country's economy. First of all, we have no authority to do anything with their economy. Second, we don't have the resources...remember Mr. City Supervisor? You don't even have the resources to enforce the laws of the United States of America in your city, how are you going to help reform an entire country's economy, maybe even several countries' economies...huh???! Besides that, the Mexican government won't even cooperate with the US to keep drugs from coming in the US and it actually provides information to its citizens on how to illegally enter the US. Even if you got rid of all the corruption, there is no way Mexico is going to work "with" the US to do anything, even to reform it's own economy. Give me a break. I'm sorry but this guy shouldn't even be allowed to talk on national TV.
But he was, and it gets even funnier. He went on to say that we should follow the Europeans model of not only open borders for trade, but we should have an open labor market too. In other words, we should let anybody who pleases drift back and forth across our border for the sake of labor? Perhaps Mr. San Francisco City Supervisor would also like to have a more than 20% unemployment rate like many European countries. And how about riots like those taking place in Paris...would he like to have angry, violent, unemployed young people rioting in his city too? Why would we follow an example that has failed the Europeans so miserably? And why would anybody, even in San Francisco, want this loser to be their City Supervisor?

The demonstrations across the country this past weekend got a lot of attention from the press but did it help the cause of illegal immigrants? I don't think so. Giving local officials grossly under-estimated numbers of expected protestors so as to get the permit, blocking traffic, waving the Mexican flag and even getting kids to skip school to demonstrate. To me, this looks an awful lot like the same flagrant disresepect for our sovereignty and our laws that many of these people also displayed when they entered our country illegally.
I just hope the politicians have a spine (at least the Republicans - we already know the liberals are spineless!) and remember that most of these people can't vote anyway! My biggest fear is that Washington will pass a bill that will set up a guest worker program (okay let's call it what it really is - amnesty) but will still not seriously provide for border enforcement. Or that the 'stopping them from coming in the country' part will just be ignored like it is now. In my mind, that would be the only way Washington could further screw up our immigration problem.
I can't even blog about this anymore because it pisses me off so bad. However, I'm sure I will be re-visiting the subject many times in the months to come!

I added the song, "Have You Forgotten" by Darryl Worley to the right sidebar. It will automatically play each time you come to this site, and it will continue to play over and over unless you stop it! I apologize in advance if you don't like country. But in light of the UAE port security ordeal, I think it's appropriate to remind a few folks about why border security is important. Whether it's the southern border with Mexico, the northern border or our port security. 9/11 happened because there are people who hate us and our way of life. They still do. Never forget.

I've had this domain for a while now and have been toying with the idea of setting up a political blog. I have several business blogs, unfortunately I can't vent my political feelings on those blogs (bad for business since roughly half the country is going to disagree with just about anything I say!). But I keep up on current events quite a bit (okay, I admit I'm a Fox News junkie), and I have a lot of opinions that my family is probably sick of hearing. So finally today, thanks to George Bush's stupid idea to trust the UAE with some of our port security, I started www.BlogForFreedom.com to let the world know exactly what I think (although the world really doesn't care - I'm aware!).
As a disabled veteran, a Republican and a President Bush supporter, I cannot believe that ANY of our nation's port security would be left to the UAE. I realize there is a great deal more to this issue than meets the eye - information that citizens such as myself do not have. However, if there is even a .01% chance that this could jeopardize national security (and there is at least a .01% chance), why would we take such an unnecessary risk?
As a child, I lived in Saudi Arabia and I have many Arab friends. As a result, I understand their culture and I do not trust the UAE. I know that extremist Arabs who hate America are an accepted part of most Arab cultures. They are not seen as criminals, in fact, many see them as heroes and their ties to the "government elites" are usually strong. While many Arab governments are "officially" allies of the US and the war on terror, their people truly do not like America or our way of life. For this reason, it would be way too easy for an extremist group to find an "in" to this UAE company. What if our UAE 'friends' just happen to turn a blind eye to a shipment of weapons, nuclear, chemical or other hazardous items that could be used to launch an attack on our homeland? Currently, the majority of containers that come through our ports go unchecked and we need to tighten port security. Instead, we seem to be putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Has our government become completely blind to the obvious?
President Bush and the Republican Party claim that securing our nation is a top priority after 9/11. Iraq is part of this plan and I support the war in Iraq. However, what good does it do to spend billions of dollars fighting terrorism in Iraq when our borders are completely unprotected? If Mexican immigrants can illegally enter our country any time they like, what's stopping Al Quaeda? Nothing. And now we're going to leave our ports in the hands of a country that was home to two of the 9/11 hijackers? If we continue with such an ignorant, liberal attitude towards national security, President Bush is right about one thing...it's just a matter of time before we get hit again.
I have lost a great deal of respect for President Bush due to his failure to secure the Mexican border. I live in Arizona and I believed border security would finally be taken seriously after 9/11. But it was all political BS. And now with this port security issue, I don't know what he's thinking anymore. For the first time in my life, I actually agree with the Democratic leadership. If the Republicans want to continue being seen as the party that will protect America, they need to get back to basics and realize that putting a country that doesn't like us in charge of our port security is the wrong thing to do. It's like the UN putting Libya on the committee that oversees human rights. It makes ZERO sense. If Republicans cannot use their majority in Washington to stop this UAE deal, then perhaps they don't deserve to be in control anymore. I think this could be one of THE ISSUES that alot of people who are on the fence will remember. They could very well use their vote in future elections to punish candidates that support this UAE company.
I don't know about you, but I remember just a few short years ago that President Bush "...looked into Vladimir Putin's eyes..." and saw a soul he could trust. Wrong George. Old habits die hard and much like the UAE, Putin is only our friend to our face. Behind our back, however, he has gone out of his way to be un-helpful to the U.S.... joining France's efforts against us before the Iraq war, even going as far as to befriend Hammas and help Iran get nukes. Even a so-called Western ally like France actually hates America. Saudi Arabia is our supposed ally too, yet they are the world's largest exporter of terror. They teach radical islam in their schools and some members of their royal family were found to have financial links to terror. But they're "officially" our friends ... right. Hey, why don't we put the Saudis in charge of our airport security? Can you say 9/11? Is President Bush truly so naive as to think that the UAE can be trusted to protect our national security interests?
Bush said that we have to be right 100% of the time and the terrorists only have to get lucky once. He was absolutely correct. This could be that "once". Just like he was wrong to trust Putin, Bush is wrong again regarding the UAE. And this time, I honestly fear I will live to see the day that our country realizes what a huge mistake we made by allowing our port security to be handled by a foreign country that doesn't like us.
Why doesn't Bush get it? Even Hillary Clinton and most Democrats get that this is a dumb idea. Of course, Jimmy Carter agrees with Bush and thinks this deal will be okay ... that should be a MAJOR clue that we need to stop the deal immediately!
Who'd a thought it would be a stupid Republican that pissed me off bad enough to finally start this blog! Thank you President Bush for motivating me...I'm proud to finally have my blog up. Unfortunately, I've never been so ashamed to be a Bush supporter as I am today.
